Every edition of the Festival de Cannes produces its defining images — the ones that move beyond the film programme and into the longer conversation about style, cultural authority, and what it means to arrive on one of the world's most scrutinised stages. On May 17, 2025, during the Nouvelle Vague screening at the 78th Cannes Film Festival, Slovenian fashion entrepreneur and creative Maja Malnar produced one of those images.
At the centre of it: the Be You Bangle from Naude Bourn's Emergence Collection. Handcrafted in 18k solid white gold, the bangle is a single architectural form — weighty, considered, and completely resolved. On the Cannes red carpet, where the instinct is often to layer and amplify, Malnar let the gold hold the look on its own. It did.

Malnar has long established a point of view that reads as instinct rather than curation. Her choices in jewellery are consistent with that: pieces that carry their own authority, worn by a woman who has already settled the question of her own taste. The Be You Bangle — solid 18k white gold, architectural at the wrist, precise in its proportion — belongs to exactly that register. At Cannes 2025, it was the anchor of the look and the most deliberate thing in the frame.
The Emergence Collection at Naude Bourn was designed for the woman standing at the threshold of her own public moment — where who she has become privately is now visible. The gold formalises it.
